2015 Shows and Events

May 2015 - Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

 
The 2015 season opener got off to a flying start with the exhibition halls playing host to manufacturers revealing new models and demonstrators, whilst outside over 100 club stands attended the two day event, with the Warwick Hall staging live music on the Sunday evening for all those making a weekend of the show.

May 2015 - 12th Festival of Transport 2015, Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire.

Weather forecasts of sunshine and cloud, but no rain, drew exhibitors and crowds to the late spring two day event producing an impressive array of classics, sports, kits, custom, hotrods, commercials and motorcycles with the arena providing full displays throughout the day with Concours judging and trophies up for grabs, exhibitors and competitors were feverishly polishing and preening to best effect.

 

With the judging decision finalised, it was an honour for the Hardtop Coupé design and development to receive the judges vote and winners presentation.

June 2015 - Father's Day Sportscar Show 2015, Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire.

In the Show arena Rich and Steve Berry, former Top Gear presenter from '91-'99 on the mic. The show proved a popular event with exhibitors and visitors alike attracting an exceptional turnout of modern and vintage, kit and production, american muscle and one off sportscars.
With trophies and awards up for grabs throughout the day, the Hardtop Coupé development project received the judges vote and the presentation of the Knebworth Park 2015 Sportscar Show Kit and Custom concours winners trophy.

July 2015 - Kimbolton Country Fayre and Charity Classic, Kimbolton Castle, Cambridgeshire.

 

Set within the picturesque grounds of Kimbolton Castle and jointly organised by The Rotary Club of Kimbolton Castle and The Sporting Bears Motor Club to raise money for childrens charities. The event attracted over 80 car clubs with approx 1000 cars exhibiting on the day.

 

A packed programme of events saw the "Stuntmania" motorcycle team raise the temperature in the main arena.

Along with "Lord Robartes Regiment" re-enactment and "The Galaxy Swing Band" and singers performing on the event stage.
To the skies saw the newly restored Spitfire Mk XVI T311 perform a number of fly-bys before tipping its wings and returning home to join the "Battle of Britain Memorial Flight" at RAF Coningsby.

August 2015 - Summer Car Show, Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

 

 

WOW! What a scorcher for this annual summer event held within the grounds of this historic venue. The event attracted exhibitors of kit, custom, American muscle, hotrods, modern and vintage classics with the museum exhibits and hanger displays open to exhibitors on the day.

 
 
As the heat of the mid afternoon summer sun now really kicked in and the temperature felt hot enough to melt the tarmac, the roof panels were removed from the Hardtop Coupé and stowed away safely in the boot for a wind in the hair open top journey home.

August 2015 - Stamford Car Show, Lincolnshire.

Booked to capacity months before the event, the gates opened on the 12th annual Stamford Car Show with grey skies and forecasts of rain from 1pm onwards.

 

Undeterred by the impending downpour, spirits were not dampened as exhibitors of kit, custom, hotrod, vintage and modern classics filled the showground at this popular event organised by The Stamford Round Table.

 

With attractions scheduled throughout the day to include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's Hawker Hurricane flyby, classic car auction and the annual Stamford Meadows Duck Race, the public support for the event was exceptional with a constant stream of visitors entering the showground.

September 2015 - Sywell Classic - Pistons and Props, Sywell Aerodrome, Northamptonshire.

After a very mixed show season of sun cream and wellies the 2015 Sywell Classic finally pushed all the right buttons with another glorious sunny Saturday and Sunday for the third annual Pistons and Props event.

 F1, F2 and F3 racecars exhibited alongside hybrids, hotrods, dragsters and historic race karts.

 

For the classic enthusiast over seventy five classic and sportscar clubs exhibited throughout the showground.

 

On two wheels there was an impressive mix of traditional classics to more modern road and race Moto GP Superbikes.

 

 

 

To the skies saw precision flying displays from the Trig Aerobatic Display Team, with The Great War Display Team returning to the event complete with airborne flash bangs and pyrotechnic attention getters!

 
On the main stage and debuting at the event, The Jazz Colossus Big Band and The One Eyed Cats entertained the crowds, while for all the racers, exhibitors and campers stopping over for the weekend Hanger One hosted the party on Saturday night with the sounds of Mark Haley.
 
This action packed event certainly pulled out all the stops to leave the 2015 Summer Show Season on a high.
