2026 Show Reviews

The garage doors are opened and with the flick of the key, I fire the 3.9 V8 into life for the quick jog down to Cambridge. A short run down the A1, A14, M11 and in no time at all I’m spotting the hangers and Spitfires of the Imperial War Museum. Approaching the aerodrome I can see across the fields that this show is well attended with vehicles stretching right across the showground area, car club flags are flying, trade and craft stalls are ready for business and aircraft are lined up on the grass runway. With the marshals well organised and managing to keep the flow of exhibitors moving, I pull onto the showground and I am immediately greeted by Steve, (Director of Great British Motor Shows) welcomed to the event and directed to my display area for the day. The live arena commentator for the show is Richard who will be detailing the history and development of the vehicles on display and presenting the winners trophies after much deliberation and cogitation by the judges.

So it’s a quick polish over with a micro fibre to remove the road film and then a stroll around the showground amongst exhibits from all eras of motoring with classics, American muscle, kits, hotrods, vintage motorcycles and aircraft of all shapes and sizes. Over on the tarmac, there are numerous static aircraft for visitors to view and over on the grass runway there is a mix of modern and classic aircraft waiting to fly.

To the skies saw aircraft from the Duxford collection with the impressive Sally B Flying Fortress putting on a wonderful low flying display accompanied in the air by Duxford’s own Spitfire. What a wonderful sound! It was eyes to the skies all around the showground as this was not to be missed.

Back on the ground as the presentations continued it was an absolute honour to receive the judges vote for my Dax Rush Hardtop Coupé design & development and be awarded the inaugural 2026 IWM Duxford Signature Classic & Performance Motor Show Kit and Custom Concours winners trophy.

On arrival we were greeted by some very well organised Rotary Club event marshals and quickly directed to our display area for the day. Whether vehicle exhibitor or walk in visitor this annual event is organised for charity by the Kimbolton Castle Rotary Club and attendees showed appreciation throughout the day by digging deep for the charity raffle buckets.

This is always a good event to meet up with old friends for a great relaxing day. Mid afternoon in the distance to the west could be seen the silhouette of the BBMF Hurricane as it came into view and performed three low fly-bys along the full length of the showground.

This is the inaugural event held at Dene Park for the event organisers ‘Great British Motor Shows’ who annually continue to add to their prestige venue line-up with some very attractive locations. This single day event saw a good turnout with visitors to the show able to see and chat with owners of Super Cars, Classics, Sports, American, Kits, Custom, Hotrods and some beautifully presented classic motorcycles. 

As the day progressed, it all flowed like clockwork, other than a little hic-up with the sound system due to the wind. Just before lunch as arranged, I enter the arena with my Dax Rush 3.9 V8 Coupé to do a piece on the mic about my design and development of this award winning sports car. What an absolute honour to be then presented with the judges winners trophy.

This is a very well organised show at a prestige venue, giving a good foundation to build on in the years to come. A great day out for the whole family and well worth attending in 2027.
